Where did it all begin?

People have been removing hair for centuries by tweezing, threading, or waxing.

It wasn't until 1875 that a doctor came up with an idea to permanently disable a nuisance eyelash. He cauterized the follicle by using an electrical current delivered through a tiny needle. Thus electrolysis was invented.

Laser takes this concept to a new level by destroying the follicle with heat from light instead of electrical current, using the hair itself to absorb the heat to disable the follicle.

The complicating factor with both these methods is the follicle can only be cauterized when it is actively growing and connected to the blood supply.

From the surface, all hairs look the same, but beneath they are in different phases of growth. About 10-15% of the hairs are in the growth stage at any one point in time. The other 85-90% are either in their dormancy or shedding stages.

Hairs cycle through the growth stage around every six weeks, so if on schedule we will be treating another batch of live hairs.

This is the reason multiple treatments are needed every six weeks.

It is important to treat as aggressively and safely as possible otherwise follicles may only be partially damaged resulting in the regrowth of hair that is too light or fine to be successfully treated with laser.

This is why choosing expertly trained technicians are so critical to the success of your treatment.
