Vi Peel represent the next generation of chemical exfoliants unlike any other you might have experienced. Each treatment includes a specially formulated post peel kit which is an essential component for treatment success, ensuring superior results to improve the skin. This is the perfect peel for all skin types!

What is Vi Peel?

A Vi Peel is an epidermal skin resurfacing peel that removes layers of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It is an ideal treatment option for patients who want improved skin with immediate lasting results, minimal time off and minimal discomfort.

What will the VI Peel Improve?
The VI Peel will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation, including melasma; soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars; and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin. Vi Peel also works well in conjunction with lasers, injectables, and post procedure.

How does the VI Peel work?
The Vi Peel will stimulate cellular turnover within 2-3 days after initial application and the skin will start to shed or peel. The patient will be given a simple aftercare kit to take home and use until the peeling is complete within about 5-7 days.

What will happen during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleansed in the treatment area. The technician will then apply the chemical peel onto the face, neck, chest or hands. The peel will remain on for at least 4 hours and will be cleansed off at home. You will then be given an after care post procedure kit. The procedure usually lasts between 20-30 minutes.

Will it be uncomfortable?
Patients will feel a slight stinging sensation for a few seconds which subsides completely almost immediately. The peel is applied topically, numbing of the skin takes place after the first pass. Some patients may feel more comfortable using a fan or cold air breeze.

Who should consider a VI Peel?
The Ideal candidate is someone who is looking for better and more long lasting results, than those produced by microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, but still wants a short healing time. It is important that you do not have any injuries or burns on your skin before treatment. Common conditions that are treated are:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage (e.g., freckles)
  • Pigment Irregularities

How many treatments will I need?
Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment however, the peel may be repeated as often as every two weeks, if necessary, for damaged skin. Our recommendation for average skin would be once every three months to prevent damage and the underlying ageing of the skin. Your technician will evaluate the patient’s damage, goals and expectations and make an appropriate recommendation for ongoing skin care.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
The skin will look slightly tan to red immediately after the peel. On days one and two the skin will feel slightly tighter with no Visible signs of having a peel except for looking slightly tan, as if the patient just returned from a relaxing weekend at a resort. Any pigmented areas might appear slightly darker, which is a good sign.

How long will it take to recover?
On about day three, the patient begins to peel. The first signs of peeling usually begin around the mouth area, continuing for a day or two. With the use of the VI Dermâ„¢ moisturizer, patients go about their usual daily routine. By day six or seven the patient is done peeling and the results are dramatic!

What aftercare do I need?
You will be given skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. A sunscreen moisturizer with a SPF of 30 or higher is recommended.
