The Permanent Choice is proud to offer the most exciting technology today in the field of aesthetics. The BBL™ -Broadband Light by Sciton is a new nonablative technology that is used in the treatment of skin conditions and facial imperfections associated with aging, lifestyle, and sun damage.
BBL™, patented and FDA-approved technology, emits a non-coherent, broad spectrum light that is attracted to cells with abnormal amounts of color. The light is absorbed by melanin or hemoglobin. The heat injures the abnormally pigmented cells resulting in a more evenly toned complexion.

An internal cooling mechanism in the hand piece makes treatments more comfortable than traditional pulsed light systems. BBL™ technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent results in photo rejuvenation therapy. Any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of sun light. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.
The number of treatments you will need with the BBL™ depends on the patient’s skin type, level of depth of lesion, and expected outcome. For maximum benefit three to five treatments, three to four weeks apart is recommended*. You may benefit from additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition. BBL™ treatments are cumulative, and can take up to three months to see the final result. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin's condition and your desired results.

Microdermabrasion may be suggested and used in combination with BBL™ treatments and cellular rejuvenation. A comprehensive skin care plan and products is highly recommended to increase and maintain the beneficial effects of BBL™ treatments. You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. A sunscreen, preferably with zinc oxide, should be used whenever exposed to UV rays or outside. A complementary application of Youngblood™ mineral cosmetics, used to reduce redness and promote healing, will be provided after your treatment.
Acne
The Sciton BBL™ uses a combination of several filters to cause effects similar to the ClearLight™ and BLU-U®, but is a true IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device. The Sciton BBL™ has the capability through the use of these multiple filters to target both deep and superficial acne. The photo thermal energy delivered will gently heat the upper layers of skin, stimulating the skin cells to generate new collagen and eliminating redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions. This also reduces pore size and destroys the bacteria that cause acne. This treatment uses light therapy to create a chemical reaction in hair follicles to kill acne-related bacteria. You may need as many as eight treatments, every two weeks to four weeks. Additional treatments or maintenance may also be needed depending on the severity of your condition.
Photo Rejuvenation
The light energy delivered by the BBL™ will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. This pulsed light technology eliminates age spots, freckles, broken capillaries and signs of rosacea while stimulating collagen production. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. Pigmented lesions after treatment will darken and may produce a coffee ground-like effect that will slowly fade or flake off. Best results require 3-5 treatments, 4 weeks apart.
Skin Tightening
The uniquely gentle and effective approach of laser remodeling takes anti-aging technology to a new level - a revolutionary way to tighten skin without the down time and expense of surgery. The treatment requires no injections and leaves no lingering redness or tenderness. The laser light pulse stimulates the growth of collagen fibroblasts deep in the dermis. As these little collagen factories come to life and begin to reproduce, your skin will rebuild from the inside. The result is younger looking skin and an almost "mini face-lift." Results are quite visible as the signs of fine lines and sun damage begin to fade away. You will begin to notice smoother, younger looking skin immediately; full effects of the treatment are seen in three months. Best results require 3-5 treatments, 4 weeks apart.
Q: Will my BBL™ treatments hurt?
A: You are likely to experience some discomfort. You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are preferentially absorbed in the unwanted vessels, heating and destroying them. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.
